There are certain elements of this bit that may seem a bit childish. For example, learning shapes is part of child's development of the understanding of spacial relationships. Kids have to figure out for themselves that you can't fit a square peg in a round hole. There are some other elements to this little animation that make it a more funny than just your average cartoon. However, rather than overthink things, it is perhaps better just to enjoy the show!
